Price guide
Stretch ceiling price: what does it cost?

Six things that decide the price
- 1
Area and room shape
More area uses more membrane and profile. Small rooms carry a share of fixed setup work, and irregular shapes, curves and level changes add time.
- 2
Membrane and finish
Matte, satin, gloss, translucent and acoustic membranes are priced differently, as are coloured and specialist membranes.
- 3
Printing
Printed designs add printing and artwork preparation. Your own images may need resizing or a proof.
- 4
Lighting
Backlighting, light lines, RGB colour and fibre-optic stars add LEDs, drivers, illuminators and controllers.
- 5
Complexity
3D forms, domes and multi-level ceilings need custom frames and are usually priced per project.
- 6
Site conditions
Ceiling height, scaffolding, removal of an old ceiling, number of openings and distance from our base.
How per-square-foot pricing works
Stretch ceilings are usually quoted per square foot of ceiling area, but what that rate includes varies between quotations. Check each of these before comparing two prices:
- Membrane type and finish (matte, gloss, translucent, printed, acoustic)
- Perimeter and intermediate profiles
- Installation labour and scaffolding, if needed
- LEDs, drivers and controllers for backlit or colour ceilings
- Printing and artwork preparation
- Openings for lights, fans, AC grilles and detectors
- Taxes (GST) and any travel costs
Comparing stretch ceiling quotations
- Make sure both quotes cover the same area and the same finish.
- Check whether lighting, printing and taxes are included or listed separately.
- Ask which membrane and profile system is proposed, and for its documentation.
- Ask for the warranty terms in writing.
- Confirm the schedule and what must be ready on site beforehand.

Simpler
Lighting and print choices can move a ceiling between these groups.

Price questions
Is there a standard stretch ceiling price per square foot?
No single rate applies to every room. The membrane is only part of the cost: lighting, printing, shape and site conditions can change the total significantly. A written quote based on your measurements reflects your actual room.
Is a stretch ceiling more expensive than a POP false ceiling?
A plain stretch ceiling can be comparable to a detailed POP ceiling, while backlit, printed or 3D stretch ceilings cost more. Our comparison guide explains the other differences, such as installation mess and upkeep.
Can I get an estimate without a site visit?
Yes — share room sizes and photos and we can give an indicative estimate. The final quotation follows the site survey.
Is GST included?
Your written quotation states clearly what is included, including taxes.
How can I reduce the cost?
Use feature finishes (print, backlighting) on part of the ceiling and a simpler membrane elsewhere, keep shapes simple, and have the site ready before installation.
