Skyceil Acoustic
Acoustic Stretch Ceilings

What it is
Rooms with glass, stone and concrete surfaces can feel loud and echoing. An acoustic stretch ceiling uses a membrane with tiny perforations that let sound pass into an absorbent layer in the cavity above.
The result looks like a plain stretch ceiling while helping to soften reverberation in meeting rooms, restaurants, home theatres and auditoriums. Acoustic performance depends on the specific membrane and backing used, so we share the manufacturer's data for the proposed system before you decide.

Benefits
- Helps reduce echo while keeping a seamless look
- Can be combined with other stretch ceiling finishes
- Hides services above the ceiling
Things to consider
- Acoustic results depend on the room, the membrane and the absorbent layer — ask for the system's test data before specifying.
- Acoustic ceilings help with echo inside a room; they are not a substitute for sound insulation between rooms.
- Cavity depth for the absorbent layer is confirmed during design.
Installation
- 1Review the room's use and surfaces, and agree target areas.
- 2Install absorbent backing and perimeter profiles.
- 3Stretch the acoustic membrane and fit lights.
Care and maintenance
- Dust gently with a soft brush or low-suction vacuum with a soft attachment.
- Avoid wet cleaning that could block perforations.

Will an acoustic ceiling soundproof my room?
No. It helps reduce echo inside the room. Stopping sound travelling between rooms needs insulation in walls, floors and doors.
Can you share acoustic test data?
Yes — we will share the manufacturer's data for the specific membrane and backing proposed in your quotation.
