Skyceil Starry Sky
Starry Sky and Galaxy Stretch Ceilings

What it is
Starry ceilings are made by setting small points of light into a dark stretch membrane. With fibre-optic systems, a single light source feeds many fine strands so the ceiling itself carries no electrical load at each star.
For a more graphic look, a galaxy or nebula can be printed onto the membrane, with or without star points added. Both approaches suit bedrooms, home theatres, lounges and hospitality spaces designed for the evening.

Benefits
- A dramatic feature for rooms used mainly in the evening
- Star density and pattern can be designed for the room
- Can be combined with cove lighting for everyday use
Things to consider
- The illuminator needs a ventilated, accessible location.
- A dark ceiling changes how the room feels in daytime — consider pairing it with general lighting.
- Star patterns are designed before installation; changes later are not simple.
Installation
- 1Plan star layout, illuminator position and any additional lighting.
- 2Fix profiles and route fibres or wiring through the cavity.
- 3Install the membrane and set the star points, then test the lighting.
Care and maintenance
- Dust the membrane gently with a soft, dry cloth.
- Keep the illuminator's ventilation clear.
- Contact us for servicing of the light source rather than opening the ceiling yourself.

Questions about starry sky
Do the stars twinkle?
They can. Twinkle and colour-change effects depend on the illuminator; we will explain the options available when we quote.
Is a starry ceiling suitable for a kids' room?
Yes — it is a popular choice. We usually suggest adding regular lighting as well for day-to-day use.
Can I have both a printed galaxy and real star points?
Yes. Combining a printed galaxy with star points gives the most depth. Ask for this option in your enquiry.
