A printed sky ceiling for a café

A continuous blue-sky ceiling that makes indoor dining feel like an open terrace.
Café seating area under a printed blue-sky stretch ceiling

Project overview

In this café, printed sky panels cover the ceiling on both sides of the central structural columns, so guests sit under an open sky wherever they are in the room.

The sky design is broken only by the columns and a beam, which were left as solid elements — giving the effect of looking up through an open roof.

Selected solution

  • Printed stretch membranes with a blue sky and soft clouds.
  • Panels arranged around the columns and beam rather than hiding them.
  • Downlights set into the printed panels for everyday lighting.
