A stretch ceiling does not have to be all feature or nothing. With a little planning you can put the budget where it makes the biggest difference. For the factors behind the price itself, see our stretch ceiling price guide.
Spend on the focal point
Use a printed or backlit panel where people look — above the bed, the dining table or the reception desk — and a plain matte or satin membrane for the rest of the ceiling.
Keep shapes simple where they don't show
Curves, multiple levels and 3D forms add frame work and installation time. Save them for the spaces where they create the most impact.
Plan lighting early
Deciding light positions, drivers and controls before installation avoids later changes, which cost more once the membrane is in place.
Have the site ready
- Finish electrical, AC and painting work in the room.
- Repair any leaks above the ceiling.
- Clear access along the walls.
Compare like with like
When comparing quotations, check that each covers the same area, membrane, lighting and taxes, and that warranty terms are written down.
