A well-installed stretch ceiling is a long-term finish. How long yours lasts depends on a handful of factors you can influence.

What affects lifespan

  • The membrane and profile system used
  • Installation quality — correct tension and secure openings
  • Lighting heat: fittings must be suitable for use with the membrane
  • Water from above: leaks should be fixed promptly
  • Physical damage from sharp objects
  • Cleaning with the right products

How to make it last

  • Dust with a soft, dry microfibre cloth; avoid solvents and abrasive pads.
  • Report any leak or sag straight away rather than piercing the membrane.
  • Use only lamps and fittings recommended for your ceiling.

Ask for the warranty in writing

Warranty terms depend on the membrane and lighting components. Ask for written terms with your quotation so you know exactly what is covered and for how long.
